The archipelago of Comoros situated in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean between the eastern coast of Africa and Madagascar. The Comoros has recorded positive growth in the recent years by consistently above 2 percent. The momentum in economic development will positively affect the country’s poverty issue.

Constitutional reforms adopted in 2009 has resulted in political and institutional stability in Comoros, which has allowed economic growth to resume. The country made progress in achieving universal primary education goal, reducing child mortality and maternal health. The main focal point for the Government now is to improve the poverty reduction and water access amongst its population.
