Indonesia, with over 18,000 counted islands, positioned on the Equator between Asia and Australia. Indonesia, a home to the largest Muslim population in the world, boasts as the largest economy in South East Asian Region and 16th largest in the world, and the biggest among ICD member countries. The economy has been growing more than 5 percent annually for the past decade. During the same period, Indonesia has been also successful in reducing the incidence of poverty by more than half.

Today the Government is active in undertaking policy reforms to improve the investment climate and the general economic condition in the country. Reforms on fuel subsidies has already freed significant public funding for social and physical infrastructure in line with Indonesia medium-term plan that ends in 2020. However, there are some challenges remain in achieving Indonesia’s goals, which include, the efficiency and adequacy of public services, physical infrastructure and access to finance by SMEs.
