Chad, a landlocked country situated in the heart of Africa, has borders with Cameroon in the South-west, Niger and Nigeria in the West, the Central African Republic in the South, Libya in the North and Sudan in the East. Chad experienced a massive economic growth since the oil discovery in the country in 2003, where the GDP has multiplied by more than five times.

Further growth in Chad’s economy will assist the progress on the improvement of the poverty. Today, the Government focuses to reduce the country’s dependence on fluctuating oil production as well as controlling the ever increasing cost of living. Also, managing the threat from Boko Haram and tension amongst different ethnicities need to be under close attention to have a prosperous socio-economic development.
