ICD’s FinTech Market Entry Report 2021

The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group (ISDBG) has the pleasure to introduce to the financial market its first FinTech report “the Fintech Market Entry Report (FMER)”.   This report is one of a series of upcoming FMER reports that will be developed to cover all of the IsDBG 57 member countries.

The FMER report has been developed to provide market analysis and insightful information to interested practitioners who are active in boosting the FinTech industry locally and via expansion to enter new regional and international markets.  The reader of this report will gain knowledge regarding attractiveness of  the FinTech business environment and infrastructure in a particular country.

Today, the financial system is increasingly offering better access to and enabling active usage of affordable financial products and services to all individuals and small enterprises, while supporting a competitive marketplace.  This growing demand must be supported by all market players.  ICD, as a development finance institution, is also contributing to this effort by enabling various aspects of the FinTech ecosystem. This orientation will have significant benefits to “financial inclusion” goals as FinTechs have proven that they are offering a faster, more affordable, and easy access services to a wider base of beneficiaries.

Lovely to learn - from this report - that the business environment encourages partnerships between FinTech companies and traditional banks to advance various applications.  However, what really makes FinTech’s a favorable alternative is their great ability to enrich different aspects of the user experience  and fulfill the emerging needs of consumers, especially millennials and Gen Z.  Stay tuned to view the following reports of this series.
